The national tribute to victims of terrorism will take place on September 19, 2012 at 5 PM at the Hotel National des Invalides upon the joint initiative of Association française des Victimes du Terrorisme – AfVT.org and Fédération nationale des victimes d’attentats et d’accidents collectifs – FENVAC SOS Catastrophes et Terrorisme.
This tribute is being annually paid since September 19, 1998 when M. Jacques CHIRAC, President of the French Republic, and M. Lionel JOSPIN, the Prime-Minister, inaugurated the statue « Parole portée » erected at the Jardin de l’Intendant aux Invalides upon the initiative of the association « SOS Attentats ».
It is organized by the AfVT.org since 2009.
If this ceremony allows us to honor the memory of our fellow citizens hit by terrorism and make their words be heard, it may as well be the opportunity of expressing the solidarity of our nation with respect to all victims of terrorism in the world.
This year the ceremony is rather special, since for the first time in years French citizens were hit by terrorism on a French soil during the attacks of Toulouse and Montauban. September 19 will mark precisely 6 months since the attack on an Ozar Hatorah school, following the attacks against French military servants.
Families and relatives of victims, but also anyone wishing to express solidarity with them are invited to join the ceremony at the Jardin de l’Intendant aux Invalides (entrance from place Vauban), on Wednesday, September 19 at 5 PM.
Thank you for downloading and printing the official invitation
It must be presented at the entrance.
We count on your presence at the ceremony in order to honor the memory of victims, support their families and express once again our determination to fight against terrorism
